Karamphala
of South 24 Parganas West Bengal, India has begun its journey in 2011 as a Fair
Trade marketing organisation with the objectives of providing support to
artisans and craftsmen in the unorganized sector of the society, talented in
their traditional crafts but denied better price for their products due to lack
of access to proper marketing. Karamphala also has taken up the task of
providing training to existing artisans and newcomers, who want to improve
their income through skill up gradation.
Karamphala
engaged in the Fair Trade Movement, is a follower of Fair Trade Principles.
- Project Karamphala constitutes of the producers of the handcrafted articles to support them from extinction.
- Update their knowledge and experience by providing them new designs, latest trends from national and international magazines and websites.
- Trained them to adapt themselves in the new endeavour.
- Arrange interest free loan as working capital to purchase raw materials.
- Provide Marketing Support of the products made by the artisans to sell in domestic market and abroad.
